ON-HOLD FOR ERIN (4-1-21) The most iconic chair ever produced needs little introduction, for sale is this Eames lounge chair and ottoman by Herman Miller (model 670/671) in a rare cognac brown leather and Brazilian Rosewood. Introduced in 1956 and still in production today, its stylish and comfortable too.

OVERVIEW: This Eames lounger features Brazilian Rosewood shells (stamped #571) with cognac brown leather cushions. I've restored many Eames loungers over the years and have never seen this color leather before - so its quite unique and rare too. Additionally, the usage of Brazilian Rosewood was banned in the early 1990s, making rosewood models more rare and highly sought-after as they're no longer being produced.

CONDITION: The entire chair has just been meticulously gone over, with the rosewood shells being reoiled/conditioned to exude their lustrous sheen and aluminum bases/accents polished to shine brightly once again. All metal sliders (i.e. Domes of Silence) are in-tact and base pedestal bushings are sturdy/solid (ie. no wobbles). As to be expected with any vintage piece of furniture, there are a few subtle imperfections here-and-there that I have already addressed/blended; but overall, this lovely presents beautifully and would be a welcomed addition into your home.

RESTORATION HIGHLIGHTS AND BACKGROUND STORY: This particular chair was purchased directly from the original owner, who bought it new in the 1970s; however, the original ottoman leather was lost during a move. So, I just had a replacement ottoman cushion made and color matched to original specs by well-renowned Eames preservation company - Hume Modern. The new ottoman cushion matches so well you'll be hard-pressed to notice its not original but I mention it here for full transparency. The remaining seat/backrest cushions are all in excellent condition, with just the right amount of "lived-in" patina/wear.

Lastly, existing shockmounts are in functional and excellent condition after inspection, and working just fine after I've personally done ample 'quality control' in it while watching many NCAA basketball tournament games this weekend...lol!

DIMENSIONS: 35" high x 31" wide x 32" deep ; seat height is 15" from floor.
