For sale is this exceptional round-to-oval Danish teak dining table beautifully paired with six newly-upholstered "Eva" dining chairs by Niels Koefoed for Koefoed Hornslet. Circa 1960s, I've restored many mid-century Scandinavian teak dining sets over the years and this pairing is the epitome of exceptional design and attention to detail...it's absolutely gorgeous and would be a beautiful table situation for your family/guests to gather around the next 30+ years.
OVERVIEW: Circa 1960s, this round-to-oval teak dining table is of the utmost quality after being recently restored. It now exudes that wonderful warm, old-growth teak glow and has just been refinished so it now exudes a beautiful sheen throughout. Closely inspect the pictures and you'll also notice the beautiful tabletop wood graining all the way from one end to the other...they certainly don't make furniture of this quality anymore and a great table for your family to gather around for the next 30+ years!
DIMENSIONS: This one has nice dimensions as its wider than most vintage dining tables at 47" diameter in the round, then extends to 66.75" of 86.5" long with the two 19.75" leaves inserted - enough for 6-8 people. Normal table height, 28.5" high. Both leaves match the tabletop thickness for continuity, this one would work great in medium-to-larger dining spaces. Table is unmarked but obviously made in Denmark, I suspect by Gudme Mobelfabrik judging from the high-quality craftsmanship.
CONDITION: I've restored numerous teak pieces over the years and this one is of top-quality, deep-and-dark old-growth teak coloring and overall condition. It's just been restored/reconditioned in so it now exudes a beautiful/protective finish with that lovely warm teak glow to showcase the beautiful old-growth teak woodgrain throughout. As with all vintage furniture, there are minor blemishes that I have addressed/blended. Overall, it presents beautifully though.
CHAIRS: sIX restored "Eva" dining chairs in wonderful old-growth Danish teak by Niels Koefoed for Koefoed Hornslet, well-known for their sculptural styling combined with supreme ergonomic lumbar support/comfort - four armless and two rare captains chairs. The overall craftsmanship, perfectly tapered vertical-slat backs and sculptural elegance/comfort of these beauties is second to none...and checkout the wonderful teak frames, simply gorgeous!
UPHOLSTERY: All have been reupholstered in a lovely heather gray fabric/chenille that goes quite lovely with the teak chair frames. If you're looking to exude a comfortable and fantastic midcentury vibe in your dining space for the next 30+ years, these chairs are for you.
CHAIR DIMENSIONS: 18.5ʺ wide x 16.5ʺ deep × 37.5ʺ high. Seat-from-floor height is 18"
TABLE DIMENSIONS: 47" round, two 19.75" leaves. Normal dining table height of 28.5"
